milaaya means ‘to unite’ or ‘to fuse together’ in Hindi, which is the Indian National language. Milaaya has been established to ‘unite’ the arts and crafts of the artisans from their villages in Asia and specifically India, to countries and people from all over the world. Milaaya portrays itself through its exotic collection of hand embroideries and beading. It believes in being able to stand out from the rest by having superior quality and unique designs and styles.

Milaaya currently works with a large number of fashion houses in USA and Europe, specializing in zardozi and aari embroideries and beadwork. Milaaya caters to each designer or fashion houses’ need according to their requirements. From couture beaded and embroidered jackets, gowns, dresses, pants, tops and accessories to a whole bridal range, Milaaya works with couture fashion houses as well as a large number of bridal clients. Givenchy, Lanvin, Gucci, Pucci, Versace, Chloe, Kenzo, Balmain, Alexander McQueen, Ralph Lauren, Michael Kors, Vera Wang, Anna Sui are some of our clients. We also work with clients at all levels of price points.

founder Gayatri Khanna is a B.S.C graduate in Entrepreneurial Studies and Marketing, from Babson College, Massachusetts. After graduating, Gayatri moved to New York and worked with various garment companies before getting a job at Saks Fifth Avenue as a buyer for designer wear. Her initial experience in New York gave her the confidence of going solo and in May 2000, Gayatri ventured out to realize her dream of acquainting the world with Asia’s and particularly India’s magnificent and breathtaking art and crafts. In May 2000, Gayatri incorporated Milaaya Embroideries in the US and India. 

Today having expanded its base over four fashion capitals of New York, Mumbai , Milan and Paris , Milaaya Embroideries provides complete packages with fabrics, trims, embroideries, embellishments, stitching and packaging for global fashion brands. Gayatri heads the design team to create every new collection of swatches. New Collections are designed using research and reports from Premier Vision, and other such trade shows and trends and forecasts from Milaaya's Couture clientele.
